Elijah: Tug of War – The Tug Between Self and Others
Do you often wonder what your purpose is in life? Or if there’s meaning in what you do? This week as we continue through our series on the life of Elijah, we will tackle this hard question. We’ll see in 1 Kings 19 that God calls Elijah to pass on his faith to Elisha. His calling was not over even after all he had been through.
A new song will be introduced this weekend called “The Cause of Christ” written and sung by Kari Jobe. It’s all about finding our ultimate calling in life. As believers, we are called to take up our cross daily and follow God. Our lives are to bring Him glory in all that we do. Even when we don’t fully understand everything, we are to live for the cause of Christ. May this last verse of the song be our prayer this week as we seek our calling in Christ:
It is not fame that I desire
Nor statue in my brother’s eye
I pray it’s said about my life
That I lived more to build Your name than mine
