Finding Home: Holy  - 1 Peter 1:13-25

As we make our way through 1 Peter this weekend, we continue to discover what it means to have a temporary home here on earth, while our true home lies in heaven. Just as He is holy, Christ calls us to live in holiness so we can prepare for our final destination. 1 Peter 1:14-16 says,

"As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Knowing that there is a glory that lies ahead, Peter reminds us that we are to live differently from what we see. We can’t do this on our own though. As we gather to worship, we realize that we are all broken and in need of God’s grace. We ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with His strength to be able to live for Him. We worship Him because He is holy. His ways are higher than our ways. We praise Him for His grace and gift of salvation. Let’s choose to live in the light of these truths this week and daily worship Him in all that we do.
