The Whole Story: The Church – Freedom In God’s Grace

We dive into Galatians this weekend as we continue through The Whole Story. The church in Galatia had been led astray from the Law of Grace, and Paul had to remind them of the reason that Jesus had come. To this day, believers still struggle with law vs. grace. Whether we mean to or not, we all at times try to add our own spin to the gospel. Paul says in Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Christ came to give us grace in response to our sin and rebellion, and that grace gives us freedom. It is by His grace alone that we are saved. As we gather to praise God for who He is and what He has done, we will be reminded of the reason He sent His son. When we worship with hearts wide open, we allow God’s gift of grace to restore our brokenness and transform our lives for His glory. We are all in need of God’s grace each day, so let this chorus be our prayer as we worship this week:

Please keep my eyes fixed on You

Please root my heart so deep in You

Keep me abiding, keep me abiding

Keep me abiding that I that I may bear fruit
