The Whole Story: Prophets - Isaiah
In the book of Isaiah, we are told of a Savior that will be sent to be among us. This is Jesus. Isaiah gives us a description of a Savior that comes from all different unlikely situations and we will explore them this weekend.
As it pertains to our worship, believing the miraculous way that Jesus entered into our world and the remarkable things surrounding His life and death should lead us to a place of awe and wonder. When we think about His purpose for coming and for His death, we should fall into surrender as we also declare the truth that we have been made righteous through Him, and that is why we are even able to come into His presence.
Hebrews 4:14-16 says, “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Therefore, we can sing these words with confidence.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
