December 25 Worship Set

Christmas 2016

This weekend we gather to celebrate the birth of Christ, God’s gift of forgiveness once and for all. Sacrifices were no longer needed. Jesus was and is the ultimate atonement for our sins.  He is the light of the world. Luke 2:8-11 says,

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.’”

God sent his only son to take on flesh to ransom you and me. He deserves all glory, honor, and praise. Just as the angels and shepherds glorified God for keeping his promise of a Savior, may we also join them in singing “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
