The Whole Story: Land - Judges

As we continue in The Whole Story this weekend, we will be looking at the book of Judges. Most people are fearful when they hear the word judge. It often brings negative feelings because judges tend to tell us what we are doing wrong, instead of telling us what we are doing right. Unlike judges today, we will be looking at judges who wanted people to thrive, succeed and live in peace with God.

To start off our time of worship through song, we will ask the Holy Spirit to be among us as we sing “Open up the Heavens” by Meredith Andrews. Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” When we ask God to come, He will show up in mighty ways.

We will continue our time of worship by thanking God for his amazing love that took our place on the cross through the song “This is Amazing Grace” by Phil Whickam. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we praise Him and sing “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, worthy is the King who conquered the grave.”

God stays the same through the ages. His love is constant, even when we are unfaithful. We will declare that God’s love never fails through the song “Your Love Never Fails” by Jesus Culture. It’s a good reminder to know that no matter how broken and sinful we are, Jesus loves us still and nothing can separate us from His great love.

In response to the message, we will take hope in knowing that we are made new by the grace of God. The power of Jesus’ blood shed on the cross makes us pure, and he transforms us from something broken to a flourishing creation. We will sing “Beautiful Things” by Gungor to praise God for making beautiful things out of us.
